Australian Business Economists (ABE) aims to encourage greater understanding of economic issues by fostering debate in the financial markets, business and commercial sectors and across the community in general. The Association was formed in 1980 with three main objectives:

> to provide a meeting ground for people interested in economic affairs;

> to promote the better understanding and use of economic analysis by business; and

> to improve communication between academic economists and business people.

ABE members represent a variety of business sectors including: banking, financial services, government and industry. ABE members enjoy a range of benefits including: functions with access to senior government policy makers; function discounts; networking opportunities; and member-only events.
