This training is a delivered as a collaboration between the four Alliances across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand,  Hunter Community Alliance, Queensland Community Alliance, Sydney Alliance, and Te Ohu NZ.

The program will be delivered online over seven 1.5 and 2 hour modules, online on Zoom, and after business hours, by a diverse team of experienced organisers from around Australia and New Zealand. 

As well as learning new concepts and tools for community organising, this is also an opportunity to develop a diverse public network of people who share an interest in organising for the common good.

Course Outline - topics covered


  • Community Organising:  based on the history and tradition of our civil society and community organisations, and religious and union organisations.
  • Relational Organising:  individual relational meetings, listening campaigns, research, power analysis, negotiation and action.
  • Strengthening our Organisations: building a culture that is relational, action-oriented and reflective/learning.
  • Using Relational Power in the public sphere to take collaborative action on common issues and win!
